Student Success Indicators

To better understand how we can support our students and help them succeed:
 
  • We compare persistence, retention, completion and transfer rates with those of similar colleges
  • and we disaggregate these measures to identify and address the barriers that the college presents to student achievement. 
Because our fall cohorts of new students are small, the analyses below include three cohort years, 2018-2020, which includes 305 students. For each measure below, we’ve included a chart comparing TBCC with a sample of peer colleges over time. We have also disaggregated each measure by gender, race/ethnicity, age, Pell status, and first generation in college status.

The achievement of each indicator is determined by comparing the current statistic with the threshold levels for each measure. These levels are:

Fall to winter persistence comparison data are available through VFA. TBCC selected eight community colleges as peer comparators through VFA: Fall-Winter Persistence Comparators:
