Accessibility Statement for https://www.tillamookbaycc.edu/
Tillamook Bay Community College is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all people, including people with disabilities.
Our Commitment
Tillamook Bay Community College (TBCC) is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We actively work to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and to ensure compliance with applicable accessibility standards.
TBCC is committed to making its web content accessible to people with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Standards We Follow
TBCC aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines helps make the web more usable for all people.
Current Status
We are actively working toward full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. Our remediation efforts are ongoing, with a target completion date of April 26, 2027, consistent with the compliance timeline established under the Department of Justice’s final rule updating Title II of the ADA.
Our current work includes:
- Auditing existing web content for accessibility barriers
- Remediating identified issues on our WordPress-based website
- Establishing internal policies for accessible document creation and upload
- Reviewing third-party platform accessibility (including our course catalog)
- Training staff on creating accessible documents before publication
Known Limitations
While we are committed to accessibility, some content on our site may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Known areas we are actively working to improve include:
- PDF documents: Some older PDF files on our site may not be fully accessible. Documents that are actively used to access TBCC programs, services, and applications are being prioritized for remediation. If you need an accessible version of any document, please contact us using the information below and we will provide an accessible alternative promptly.
- Third-party content: Our course catalog is hosted through a third-party platform (Jenzabar). We have contacted our vendor to request accessibility conformance documentation and are actively working with them to address any identified barriers. TBCC is committed to ensuring accessible alternatives are available for catalog content upon request.
- Legacy content: Some older pages and archived content may contain accessibility barriers. We are systematically reviewing and updating this content.
Compatibility
Our website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies and browsers:
- Screen readers, including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Browser zoom and text resizing up to 200%
- High contrast display modes
We recommend using an up-to-date version of your preferred browser for the best experience.
