TBCC Connections – Janaury 2026

There’s a real sense of momentum at Tillamook Bay Community College, and it’s being felt across campus and throughout Tillamook County. As we move into 2026, TBCC is entering a new chapter, defined by expanded facilities, stronger workforce pathways, and a renewed commitment to serving our community when it matters most.

Construction Progress

One of the most visible milestones is the upcoming opening of our new Administration & Health Sciences (Health Education) Building. This long-anticipated facility represents years of planning, community advocacy, and investment by local voters and state partners. Once fully operational, the building will support nursing and allied health education with modern labs and learning spaces, while also providing flexible community gathering areas. It’s more than a building—it’s a statement about the value Tillamook County places on healthcare, education, and caring for one another. Be sure to join us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and Open House on Saturday, April 18, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.

Across campus, progress continues on the Center for Industrial Technologies (CIT). This facility will significantly expand TBCC’s capacity to deliver hands-on training in welding, industrial maintenance, and advanced manufacturing. These are the kinds of skills that directly support local employers and create living-wage career opportunities for students who want to stay and build their lives here on the North Coast.

You may also notice some changes to how you access campus. TBCC recently opened a new primary entrance off Brookfield. This is a permanent change to campus that creates a safer, more cohesive campus that reflects the college’s transition from a single-building site to a true multi-building campus. It’s a small change with a big impact as we continue to grow.

Program of The Year & CTE

We’re also proud to share that TBCC’s Associate of Applied Science in Nursing was named 2026 Program of the Year at the Community Awards Banquet, hosted by the Tillamook Area Chamber of Commerce, in January. From its earliest planning stages to graduating our first cohort of Registered Nurses, this program has always been about meeting real local needs with homegrown solutions. This recognition reflects the extraordinary work of our faculty, students, healthcare partners, and the community support that made the program possible.

That focus is especially fitting as February is Career & Technical Education (CTE) Month. At TBCC, CTE is about dignity of work, economic stability, and opportunity. This month, we’ll also be at the Oregon State Capitol, highlighting our nursing pathway and sharing how rural colleges like TBCC play a critical role in strengthening healthcare and workforce systems statewide.

At a time when the world can feel increasingly divided, TBCC remains grounded in a simple but powerful belief: education should be a place of belonging, growth, and opportunity for all. TBCC’s mission and values emphasize community collaboration, equitable support, lifelong learning, and meaningful partnerships that strengthen the region. That means not only expanding facilities and programs but ensuring that every student—regardless of background—feels welcomed, supported, and empowered to achieve their goals.

Our progress is the result of collaboration; students, employees, employers, healthcare partners, voters, and supporters working toward shared goals. We’re committed to being a college that brings people together, focuses on solutions, and reflects the values of Tillamook County. TBCC is here for this community, not just in moments of celebration, but in times that call for unity, resilience, and a collective belief that we are stronger together.
